Thomas Henry Bull Symons, (born May 30, 1929) is a Canadian professor and author in the field of Canadian studies. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he is the son of Harry Lutz Symons and Dorothy Sarah Bull, and the brother of Scott Symons.〔("His life was his art. Alas, it was not a masterpiece" ). ''The Globe and Mail'', February 27, 2009.〕 He graduated from Upper Canada College in 1942, and attended the University of Toronto (B.A. 1951), Oxford (B.A. 1953, M.A. 1957) and Harvard University. He was the founding president of Trent University, serving as its president and vice-chancellor from 1961 to 1972.〔(【引用サイトリンク】work=Trent University )〕 He served as chairman of the Ontario Human Rights Commission from 1975 to 1978.
